Uncovering the Magic of Rehearsals with the Williamson County Orchestra

Are you an aspiring musician looking to take your skills to the next level? The Williamson County Symphony Orchestra (WCSO) is the perfect place to start. Founded to provide amateur musicians with the opportunity to perform in a professional concert environment, the orchestra requires long-term dedication and commitment to learning the musical repertoire. The WCSO is looking for a dedicated amateur musician who can commit for a year or more. To be eligible, voters must elect a county clerk who will serve for four years and will be clerk of the county courts and of the county commissioners and recorder.

The clerk's functions, requirements, and fees are prescribed by the Legislature. Under the direction of Linda Bolding, the choir has grown from 70 to 90 singers and now offers stand-alone concerts in Williamson County. Bolding is a member of the Texas County and District Clerks Association, the Property Records Industry Association, and the National Association of County Registrars, Election Officials (26% of Clerks). During weekly practices on Tuesdays, future musicians often sit next to the orchestra to determine if they can meet the level of performance required. Are you curious about what it takes to be part of this prestigious orchestra? Are you interested in hearing recordings of rehearsals by the Williamson County Orchestra? Unfortunately, there are no recordings available at this time. However, attending rehearsals is an excellent way to get a feel for what it takes to be part of this esteemed ensemble.

It is also a great way to get to know other musicians and learn more about the music. If you are interested in joining the WCSO, contact the County Clerk of the Williamson County Justice Center at (51) 943-1515 or visit their office at 405 Martin Luther King St., Georgetown, TX 78626-4901.
